Where we are making room for incarcerated sex workers. We are creating community inside and outside the walls. We send out a monthly newsletter to over 1,000 incarcerated sex workers, and we are filling up the prison libraries with books. We also offer paralegal corresponds scholarships, we have a penpal program and we help people being released access re entry services.

Coyote RI partnered with The Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice at Brown University and we conducted research on the real lives and experiences of 62 Rhode Island sex workers (2014-2016) These findings revealed that 24% of those interviewed reported having been robbed, raped or assaulted by police officers, 77% said they would never report violence due to fear of arrest and 14% had been to grad school. These findings show what a diverse population this is.

Coyote RI also networks with several local social justice organizations. We are proud to announce that on June 1st 2017, through the efforts of Providence Youth Student Movement (PrYSM) we got the "Community Safety Act" Passed. Providence RI is the first US city to pass legislation that will hold police officers accountable.

Coyote RI has partnered with Direct Action for Rights and Equality (DARE), Providence Youth Student Movement (PrYSM), Fighting Against Natural Gas (FANG Collective), Colectivo Sin Fronteras, and the Refugee Dream Center, to create AMOR (Alliance Mobilization to Organize Resistance) Rapid response to to victims of hate crimes in Rhode Island.
