Klie Kliebert
Transilient Communications Director
New Orleans
Talk to me about the open source movement, environmental science, Codes of Conduct, equitable space making in tech, Trans/Nonbinary/GNC/LGBTQ issues, social media, and everything else awesome. Currently, I'm the Communications Director for Transilient, a traveling photo and interview-based project where we candidly document transgender and gender non-conforming people in their day-to-day lived realities using only their voices. I'm also the Operations Manager for Public Lab (www.publiclab.org), an open source DIY environmental justice group, and the Outreach and Communications Specialist for Water Works, where we hope to achieve more equitable flood protection around New Orleans. I'm the Safety Officer for GOSH (www.openhardware.science), an international community of scientists and technologists that aim to open science from inaccessible institutions of power and to the community so that everyone can benefit from and help shape the future of science. Lastly, but maybe most importantly, I appreciate sci-fi, cat GIFs, and my magical community down here in New Orleans.
